Georgia is known for Atlanta, Savannah, the Bulldogs and it’s delicious peaches. But it is also rich with beauty: between it’s mountains, waterfalls, and swamps, it is definitely a must-hammock-in state.
Tallulah Gorge State Park
“Run, climb, bike or hike Tallulah Gorge State Park”, they forgot to say hammock!! Seriously though, Tallulah Gorge is packed with waterfalls, canyons, beautiful nature all around you and of course, places to hang your hammock. There’s a bunch of different trails that take you all around this park, so feel free to check them all out and sleep in your tree tent in between the hikes.
Need a break from the city? Escape to the beautiful Lullwater Park right near Atlanta for beautiful scenery and a calm place to relax on your hammock. Hike along the lake, check out the waterfall or explore the ruins, this hidden gem is the perfect place to get some peace and quiet from the bustling Atlanta life.
Raven Cliff Falls Trail
One of my favorite Georgia trails, Raven Cliff Falls will not disappoint. Hike 2.5 miles to a beautiful waterfall, snap some photos, and set up your hammock. Feel free to camp here and check out some other nearby trails the next day.
I caught this picture a couple years ago on one of my favorite trips. Okefenokee Swamp is in both Georgia and Florida and is full of wildlife, beautiful scenery, and a plethora of things to do. Kayak in the swamp, hike all around, run into gators, all different kinds of birds, deer and maybe even some bears. This swamp is perfect for those of you who love adventure. You do not want to miss out on all this park has to offer, but between all your adventure, don’t forget to catch some zzz’s on your hammock!
