Tennessee is home to country music, many music legends: Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton, and beautiful National Parks. Most notably, the Great Smoky Mountains, which is the most visited National Park in the U.S. For all you music lovers, and nature lovers, this is one of the best states to hang your hammock and listen to some tunes.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park straddles both North Carolina and has over 500,000 acres of natural beauty and things to do. Hiking, biking, fishing and over 10 different waterfalls you can check out. It won’t matter what part of this park you wind up near, there is a ton of things to do and nature to check out near you. Think of all the hammock spots you could find to hang your favorite hammock!
Cherokee National Forest is very similar to the Great Smoking Mountains, this beautiful park is full of places to explore. The Great Smoky Mountains actually splits this forest into a north and south part. The forest is also divided into different recreation spots, so depending on what you like, you can find the perfect spot for you and your hammock. But no matter where you are and what you choose this forest won’t disappoint you.
What’s better than one waterfall? 4 waterfalls in the same park! Burgess Falls State Park looks awesome- full of beauty, waterfalls, nature, and hopefully soon full of you and your hammock. The biggest waterfall falls 130 feet down into the gorge, a site you won’t want to miss from the comfort of your hammock. There is also fishing, hiking and a ton of cool wildlife and wild plants.
Hope you’re not tired of reading about waterfalls yet! Virgin Falls seems to be one of the most unique waterfalls you’ll find in Tennessee. This relatively long hike will take you past 4 waterfalls- one of them being Virgin Falls. Virgin Falls’ “high-volume tributary bursts out of a cave and flows several hundred feet above ground, before plunging 110 feet” and disappearing back underground. Trek through all these beautiful waterfalls and then post up your hammock for some rest.
